What Can We Do To Reduce Marine Pollution ?

The one and only solution to this global problem of marine pollution is not by keep inventing new technologies to speed up the process of clean up and collect marine debris neither to reduce the costs of that process ( of course we can do that every single day for the rest of our lives ). The ultimate solution to this problem is prevention, we have prevent rubbish from entering into our oceans and waterways in the first place. There is absolutely no point to keep inventing new technologies or new methods to reduce marine pollution unless we stop polluting the ocean.

To stop marine pollution might sound difficult, but actually it is very simple. A simple acts such as instead of using plastic bags and switch it to reusable grocery bag, stop littering, organizing a beach clean up event and etc(Bernard, 2016). Government also must stricter the rules and regulations on industry and manufacturing. Instead of offshore drilling to explore and extract petroleum, government should more focus on renewable energy sources such as solar power, wind power ,hydroelectricity and etc.
